Willems Contracting secures framework deal

Willems Contracting is delighted to announce it has secured a 3+1+1 framework contract. The work will consist of the installation of specialised manhole covers, security doors Window bar sets and minor civils work. This is great news for the Willems Contracting team. The work will take place in the following regions:

  • Severn Trent Water Region
  • Anglian Water Region
  • South Staffordshire Region.

Willems Contracting Ltd achieves ISO 14001:2004

Willems Contracting Ltd has just been accredited with the ISO 14001:2004.

ISO 14001:2004 specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organisation to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes, and information about significant environmental aspects. It applies to those environmental aspects that the organisation identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence. It does not itself state specific environmental performance criteria.

We are very proud to have achieved this accreditation because it reflects the importance we place on a consistently high quality result and a duty of care to the environment.

Willems Contracting applies for OHSAS 18001

OHSAS 18001:2007 provides an occupational health and safety management standard. This defines a set of requirements relating to the effective management and implementation of our occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS).

The new OHSAS 18001:2007 standard was published during July of 2007. It replaces OHSAS 18001:1999. OHSAS 18001 applies to all types of organisations, designed in a way that businesses large or small can maintain their OH&S systems effectively.

We are pleased to have reached a standard whereby, once we have achieved this accreditation we will work under a PAS 99 system which will integrate all 3 accreditations:

  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 14001
  • OHSAS18001.

Accreditations

We are currently applying for the SMAS accreditation. In line with H&S legislation and Industry best practice, many clients will only use contractors and consultants selected from an approved database who have demonstrated the appropriate level of competence in their H&S management systems. Many buyers are also looking for the SSIP logo as a reassurance that the assessment meets the stringent criteria set by the HSE. Both the SMAS Worksafe schemes are assessed to this standard.
